Pre-Event Volunteer Opportunities
Pre-event volunteers who work a minimum of 6 hours receive a complimentary registration.

Wednesday Night Volunteer Work Parties
Join us select Wednesday evenings to help with processing registrations, mailing, faxing, packing supplies and calling new Chicagoland Bicycle Federation members. We'll provide refreshments.

Packet Pickup
Help distribute goody bags, T-shirts and rider numbers to participants before the event at several downtown and suburban locations during day and evening hours (exact times and dates TBD).

Outreach
Be a bike messenger for a day (or two) and help distribute information to large residential buildings along the lakefront on Saturday, May 10, and Saturday, May 17.

Help us keep our office running smoothly during this busy time by answering phones and managing administrative projects.

Day-of-event volunteers receive a complimentary breakfast, a Bank of America Bike the Drive T-shirt and inclusion in the volunteer raffle.
Course Marshal - 4:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
Join a team to offer encouragement to riders and help direct them safely along the course. Course marshal teams will be stationed along the entire length of Lake Shore Drive.

I am an experienced Course Marshal and am interested in taking on a leadership role.
Ride Marshal - 4:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
Cyclists experienced in bike repair and first aid are needed to patrol the route, fix flats and encourage safe bicycling among event participants. A limited number of ride marshals will be chosen based on experience. Attendance at volunteer orientation is required.
I have been a Ride Marshal for past bicycling events.
I know how to change a tire, make small mechanical adjustments and I own a bicycle pump and repair tools.
I am a licensed health care professional.
Bike Ambassadors - 4:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
Similar to ride marshals, experienced cyclists are needed to ride along with participants to encourage safe bicycling, patrol the route and serve as event representatives.

Be part of a team setting up a rest stop and serving fruit, snacks and water to our participants.

We need safe drivers to rescue participants and bikes that break down during the ride. Don't have a car? That's ok; we have vehicles that need safe drivers.

Rest Stop Truck Drivers - 3:45 a.m. - 12 p.m.
We’re seeking two people to drive 18-foot trucks from Columbus and Jackson to their designated locations, assist at the rest stops and return the truck after the event. No trucking license required.

South Rest Stop truck to 57th in front of the Museum of Science and Industry
Signage Team - Exact times are TBDWe need a handful of folks to help hang signs in the festival area and along Lake Shore Drive before the event begins and to help collect them after the event is over. Yes, I would like to be on the Signage Team.
